The half double crochet stitch is one of the easiest crochet stitches. It is taller than a single crochet (sc) and shorter than a double crochet (dc). It creates a lovely knit look when you work into the back bar (3rd loop) of the stitch. This stitch can be made quickly. The hdc stitch is great for blankets, hats, scarves and other projects too! It is my favorite crochet stitch because I find it one of the fastest stitches to make.
