Close Scallops Stitch Pattern and Tutorial

For this project (my Orange Explosion Dishcloth) I used Medium Weight Cotton Yarn [4] and a 5 mm (H) crochet hook. The stitches used are single crochet (sc), double crochet (dc) and slip stitches (sl st).

The stitch multiple is 6 + 1

My photo tutorial is very detailed and a beginner could easily complete this project. I’ve included an example below. For the full tutorial click the “View Full Tutorial” button below.

Written instructions, in U.S. terms are provided to make a 6 inch, 9 inch and 12 inch square dishcloth using this close scallops stitch.

I have included the stitch multiple to allow you to create crocheted items like blankets, afghans and garments using this pretty stitch. It is a perfect stitch to use for baby blankets.
