Designer Profile

Kara Gunza is the designer and instructor behind Petals to Picots, where she shares her crochet patterns, tutorials, and tips. She’s been crocheting for over 30 years—starting with simple chain stitches learned by her Nonna’s side—and has since earned the CGOA’s Master of Advanced Stitches & Techniques certification.

Her work has been featured in books like Baby Brights and in magazines including Simply Crochet, Crochet!, Homespun, and Inside Crochet. Kara enjoys helping others learn and grow in their crochet skills, but she’s happiest spending time at home with her husband, their three kids, and their energetic dog.
