This photo tutorial will teach you how to sew the mattress stitch seam. The mattress stitch seam is nearly invisible and completely flat. You can even use this technique to seam two pieces of crocheted fabric of slightly different lengths by evenly distributing the extra fabric over the full length of the seam.
