Diamond Mosaic Crochet – Perfect for Blankets & Home Decor
Overlay mosaic crochet is a fun technique where you only work on the front side of your project, going from right to left. Each row is made in a different color, and you fasten off the yarn at the end of every row.
This method uses just two stitches:
- Single crochet in the back loop
- Double crochet in the front loop (worked two rows below, called a drop-down double crochet)
The double crochets sit over the single crochets from the row before, creating the beautiful mosaic pattern. Since you’re only working on the front, you don’t have to worry about changing colors within a row—each row is a solid color, making it easier than it looks!
