Yarn Used for Crochet Slouchy Hats
I’ve also tried to include pattern options in a range of yarn weights in this roundup. Some patterns call for DK (Light) Weight Yarn, some for Medium Worsted Weight Yarn and others for Bulky Weight Yarn.
Slouch Hat Construction
Most of these hat patterns are crocheted from the bottom (starting at the brim), up to the top of the hat. This makes them easy to adjust for hat height. A few of the patterns listed below include messy bun hat options and beanie options as well.
Many different stitches are used to create these hats including, chains (ch), puff stitches, single crochet (sc), half double crochet (hdc), double crochet (dc), slip stitches (sl st), and texture is created with simple elements like working in the back loop only (blo).
Some of my favorite crochet slouchy beanie patterns in this collection are the Andean Peaks Hat, the Wynn Slouch Hat and the Bead Stitch Slouch Hat.
TIP: Remember you can always add a pom pom to your hat too!
