Octavia Scarf Video Tutorial + Pattern
Learn how to crochet an easy, cozy scarf that features the half double crochet stitch (HDC) and front post (FP) and back post (BP) stitches.
Post stitches create a fun ridged texture and a very cozy finished fabric.
The Octavia Scarf looks great in a solid color, or in color blocks as I’ve done.
You’ll need some Worsted Weight yarn [4] and a 5 mm (H8) crochet hook. I used Red Heart Super Saver in Dove and Carrot.
Bernat Super Value, Lion Brand’s Heartland and Premier Yarns Everyday Soft are great alternatives.
Written instructions, in U.S. Crochet Terms, are included for Toddler, Child, Teen/Adult Small and Adult Large sizes.
The adult small size scarf took me about 4.25 hours to complete.
Gauge is not essential, but it’s 11 HDC = 3″ Wide; 9 Rows = 3 1/8″.
The designer has included a scarf video tutorial for this project, for all sizes of the pattern.
